Boy, did I have a rough time today coming up with a drink. I’ve decided that I’m going to do a run of “Classic Cocktails”- think Betty Draper and Roger Sterling. I feel like these might be fading into oblivion, I had to look up the recipe for every single one of them. Time to bring them back.
Although, I will also say that the fact that any of our parents are normal is amazing. I feel like our grandparents might have just been buzzed half the time.
So like I said, I had a rough time coming up with a drink today. I had 5 different ideas. I’ll be damned if I wasn’t missing one ingredient for all of them! So, we’ll be starting off this series with a Classic Gimlet. If you like gin, you’ll love this!
Fun fact: this drink was originally concocted by the British Navy as a way of preventing scurvy while out at sea, and was named after the gimlet- the tool that was used to tap into the lime juice kegs. The More You Know. Thanks, The Bar Book.
