I can’t recommend this book enough to anyone who loves pasta- and Lord knows that we do in this house!! When I’m feeling ambitious and feel like using my pasta machine, this is book that I turn to. I think the recipe for fresh pasta dough in this book is absolutely fool-proof.
Not only is The Pasta Book full of beautiful food photography (we all know that we eat with our eyes first), but it is chock-full of delicious recipes divided into five categories- fresh pasta, dried pasta, stuffed/baked pasta, dumplings and Asian noodles. In the beginning of each section, the author talks about each different kind of pasta- when to use different types, cooking tips, pairing with sauces, and serving. There are also step-by-step instructional pictures on how to mix dough, roll it out, and create different filled pastas. It’s extremely informative and easy to follow.
I’ve given this book as a gift more than once, and turn to it for dinner inspiration often.
You can buy The Pasta Book at any Williams Sonoma, brick-and-mortar bookstore, or online at Amazon here (cheaper!)
